A Political Addendum

Chaotic Neutral
Because we're screwed up enough to warrant one.

The results for Delaware's Super Tuesday Primary:

 Republicans:

John "Da Big MC" McCain: 45%
Mitt "More Money Than God" Romney: 32.5%
Mike "God Says Vote" Huckabee: 15.3%
Ron "T3H INT3RW3BS" Paul: 4.2%
Other: 2.8%

Democrats:
Barack "It's a B, not an S" Obama: 53.1%
Hilary "It Worked For My Husband" Clinton: 42.3%
Joe "I Are Articulate" Biden: 3%
John "I'm Try To Become the Fzcking President" Edwards: 1.3%
Other: .4%

Seriously, what the hell? I can understand Obama, but Da Big MC? I don't see what he's got going for him, other than T-Stanz's massive tirades about how he's completely honest and all that jazz.

Ugh.

Huh.

Here's something I find marginally interesting.

People pronounce my name differently.

I kid you not, apparently there are several ways one can pronounce Jacie. And I've found that I get a little excited when I know someone is going to say my name, just to see how they decide to stress the syllables and whatnot.

For example, there's the "correct" pronounciation, the way I myself pronounce it. JAY-see. Matthew, Joe, Katie, and lots of other people I know very well or am friendly with will say my name like that.

And then there's the "flat" pronounciation, where none of the syllables are stressed. Jay-see. Mike, Preston, Cherie, the Jaegers, and many others like to say it that way.

Let us not forget the "wrong" way to pronounce it. Jay-SEE. Like the initials. Many of my friends' parents, my step-aunts and -uncles, and other people who are unfamiliar with me use that pronounciation.

There are also somewhat unique versions. Por ejemplo:

-
Alexey's rather slurred Russian version: Jeys-ee
-Kenyon's extra-syllable version: JAY-ay-see
-Randi's indignant version: Jee-AY-see!
-The version-that-is-not-my-name version: Jack-ee
-The French-Cut Jacqueline version (technically not a way of pronouncing  Jacie, but it counts): ZYAK-leen

And even within the main catagories, there are sub-versions. Again, por ejemplo:

-Matthew's way of putting a little purr in my name
-Joe sounding like he's just coming out of a cough
-Cherie using a lilt
-Preston making it staccato
-Mike not using it unless he has to
-Kevin speaking as though he has a loudspeaker stuck in his throat

Fascinating, really.
I think so, anyway.

As a final note:
OTJOIRHTOIRHUERHFEGP I HATE YOU NEW HAMPSHIRE.
